1. CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION

1.1 PARTICIPANTS

- World Cup – Best Massage Therapist 2018 is an open competition.

- Each massage therapist can take part in as many categories as he/she wishes.

1.2 REGISTRATION 

- Registration form has to be filled by each massage therapist and send back to e-mail: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

- Each massage therapist has to send a movie to present his/her skills in the selected category.

- Movie cannot be shorter than 7 minutes and longer than 10 minutes.

- If massage therapist will decide to participate in more than one category has to send more than one movie (one movie per one category).

- Registration form has to be sent until 31st of December 2018.

- Registration fee: 100 Euro/per one category.

2. THE COMPETITION

2.1 SUMMARY

- There are 2 levels of World Cup competition:

1st level Preliminary Rounds and 2nd level Final Rounds (The final rounds will take place in Athens, Greece).

Preliminary Rounds (online qualifications) – until 31/12/2018

Results of Preliminary Rounds – until 15/01/2019

Final Rounds (Athens) – 10/03/2019

2.2 CATEGORIES

All rounds of competition consists of 5 categories:

Free Style Massage

- Sports Massage

- Therapeutic Massage

- Asian Massage

- Chair Massage

2.3 COMPETITION AREA - FINAL ROUNDS IN ATHENS, GREECE (10th of March 2019)

- The competition area consists of two lines. In every line 5 massage tables.

- For the Free Style, Sports and Therapeutic Massage category there are 10 massage tables;

- for the Asian Massage category there are ten mattresses; there are 10 massage tables;

for the Chair Massage category there are 10 chairs.

- The duration of each round is 15 minutes (min. 5 minutes in 1st line and min. 5 minutes in 2nd line).

2.4 EVALUATION – JUDGES

- During the preliminary rounds (1st level of competition) the international committee of judges will choose 10 Best Massage Therapists per one category.

- The committee of judges during the final rounds (2nd level of competition) will decide via draw, which body part competitors will massage.

- There will be 4 body areas:

1. front side, upper body

2. front side, lower body

3. back side, upper body

4. back side, lower body

- The professional committee can consists of number of judges, 5, 7, 9 or 11.

- In the final rounds, there will be 2 committees: judges and audience.

- There will be two different lists of results due to the fact that there will be two committees.

- The professional committee of judges will choose Best 3 Massage Therapists 2019 per each category/per each round.

- The committee of judges from audience will choose Favourite 3 Massage Therapists 2019 per each category/per each round.

- The biggest grade as well as the lowest is eliminated from the final results. The rest of the grades are added together. The competitor with the lowest final grade is the winner. For example:

Competitor1 has 8 points -> winner

Competitor 2 has 10 points ->2nd place

Competitor 3 has 28 points ->6th place

Competitor 4 has 14 points ->3rd place

Competitor 5 has 24 points ->5th place

Competitor 6 has 20 points -> 4th place

- The judges will evaluate the competitors in:

1. body ergonomics and safety,

2. techniques quality,

3. range of techniques.
